Zombiewood Walkthrough and Hidden Trophy

Zombiewood is a new FREE game for both iOS and Android.  I must say I spent a good portion of this past weekend playing the game on both the iPhone 5 and our Android tablet.  So far it is a really great game!  Excellent graphics and game play.  I'd highly recommend checking it out.

Initially I had no idea how to find the hidden trophies and a few times I actually managed to collect a few, but had no clue how I did it.

Thanks to the commenter below, I realized they are contained within the props.  For example, blowing up a mailbox or other prop may cause a hidden trophy to pop out, so start blasting everything in sight!

Surprisingly, I have not yet come across a walkthrough for Zombiewood.  If you do come across one, please drop me a comment and I'd be glad to link to it.

Here is a Zombiewood Tips and Cheats FAQ type page

This is one of those must have games in my opinion and the best part so far is that it's free and I haven't hit a point where you're stuck and can't move forward without wanting/needing to make in game purchases to get further.  Great job from the guys at Gameloft!

Enjoy!

The Biggest Launch of 2012 - $598.80 Per Sale!

I received an email from the makers of Market Samurai about a new product launching today called "Profit Hacks".  It's been put together by Pete Williams, one of the big hitters in the Internet Marketing space.

Profit Hacks is a whole series of brilliant business 'hacks' that anyone can use to triple their income while working 90% LESS than they do now.

It's kinda like the Four Hour Work Week - ON STEROIDS!

I signed up as an affiliate myself.  The ability to make $598.80 from one sale of the product is quite enticing.  The launch begins today and ends November 15th, so if you are interested I'd recommend checking it out and signing up now.  There is nothing for you to buy, you just promote the product and get a commission for any sales you make.

Click here to see what I mean

Here are some further details from the email:

Here's WHY I think this launch is going to convert better than anything we've seen this year:
  • It's a great product (Pete has put in over 12 months of hard work to pull this together, and it shows. There's over 20 hours of content including audios, transcripts, mindmaps and over 100 videos)

  • Industry Buzz (Pete's partnered with Rich Schefren to bring Profit Hacks to market and virtually all the leading Internet marketers are already on-board)

  • Insane Conversion Rates (In Pete and Rich's in-house test launches, the product converted at OVER 50%)

  • MASSIVE Commissions (How does $598.80 commission per sale sound?)
Often these BIG launches are only open to a select group of high-end partners, but because we know Pete, we're able to pass on this VIP invitation to you to share in the profits.

What You Need To Do...
Just click the link below and sign up as a JV partner and you'll get the inside scoop on the launch including free swipe copy to mail to your list as well as access to some killer content.

Click here to become a VIP JV Partner

If you're looking for a high converting product to promote, that your followers will actually "thank you" for recommending, Profit Hacks is the way to go.

But you better hurry, because the launch kicks off TODAY - so you really need to get on board ASAP.  You can thank me later.  :o)

P.S. This is your chance to get in on the ground floor and be part of the biggest IM launch this year - so make sure you sign up now so you don't miss out on your share of the profits.

Visit From Max!

Sorry for the delay, it is so much more difficult to blog now that we're at the beach.

Speaking of the beach, Max, Jen, David and my Mom came out for a visit this past weekend for the Air Show and we were so glad they all came!  Of course Max was the star of the show.  I saw him about a month and a half prior over Labor Day weekend, but he advanced quite a bit since then!

He is sleeping through the night very well now.  He goes to bed around 7:30pm and wakes up around 7.  Pretty impressive and such a welcome change for Jen and the crew.

He is such a happy boy and loves zooming around and chasing people, cats or whatever in his car.  Glad we got him that, it's his favorite toy from what we have heard!

This was his first trip to the beach and the first overnight visitors we have had and it was a big success in my book, because it was great to see how aware Max has become in such a short time.  He is fully crawling, sits up like a champ and definitely likes to play, grab and even pulled himself up to stand a time or two.  He loves to hear himself talk/make noises and it's quite entertaining.

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the visit.  Check out Jen's post from the visit and her 8 month post as well.  Can never get enough Max pics!  :o)

Such a happy boy!
Wanting to share his snack lid with Monkey, Monkey was such a good boy!
Mom gazing out to the fountain at Pussers Caribbean Grill
Max's first moments on the beach. He liked it a lot, come on back Max!
Max staring out at the ocean.
Here you go, have some sand from Max!
Playing with his truck under the shade of the umbrella.
Being a good boy while we enjoyed some Mexican food/drinks.

The wifey Marla and Max
Me and Max, such a great pic!  As Jen said, so fun yet mischievous!

Max playing with Monkey, he was so good.

Zooming and talking.

And if you didn't notice, the shirt says I had fun with my
Aunt and Uncle in Jacksonville Beach.  And he definitely did!
We got him the shirt and swim trunks of course.

Y'all come on back now, ya here?!!

Can't wait for our niece Hadley to arrive!  My sister
Michelle is due around mid November.  More fun times ahead!

Apple iOS 6 Update Being Tested

News out today says that Apple is testing an iOS 6.0.1 update with the different carriers.  There is no mention of anything specific to battery life, but I'm hoping the 'fix cellular data' part may resolve that issue.  It should be released in the next few weeks.  Here are the details from the article at bgr.com:

One of our reliable Apple (AAPL) sources has let us know Apple has begun testing iOS 6.0.1 with different carrier partners in the U.S. and we have a general list of what the first iOS 6 update will entail. iOS 6.0.1 should fix the horizontal lines bug on the screen when the keyboard or app folder is open, and it will also fix a problem with the camera’s flash not going off.

In addition, the new software will improve Wi-Fi support, fix cellular data not working in some cases, add a consolidated cellular data switch for iTunes Match, fix a bug that allowed access to Passbook pass details from the lock screen, and also finally fix the bug that caused Exchange meetings to be unexpectedly cancelled for the entire calendar invite group.

In addition to iOS 6.0.1 news, we have also learned that Apple is only now just starting testing on iOS 6.1. This makes it extremely unlikely iOS 6.1 will ship with the new iPad mini by November 2nd unless there is a separate build just for the new iPad, and iOS 6.1 for all other devices will launch at a later time.

Family Fun Weekend Ahead!

This weekend is the Jacksonville Beach Air Show!  Normally it is every other year at the beach, but in 2010 and 2011 they were at the Naval Air Station on the opposite side of town.  That was because the 2011 air show marked the 100 year anniversary of Naval Aviation, so they had it there 2 years in a row.

So this year it is especially cool cause not only are we living at the beach, but we'll have visitors!  Specifically my sister Jen, Mom and Bro-in-law David and the star of the show, the most adorable nephew in the world, Max!  We're so looking forward to it.

Max at 7 months, isn't he just the cutest thing ever?!
Max is getting so big so quick!  I got to see him over Labor Day weekend in NY, but since then he had a few teeth grow in and he's crawling as well.  He's growing up too quick if you ask me!  Unfortunately Michelle and James can't make it, she's no longer able to fly for obvious reasons

Max checking out some pumpkins last weekend.
Normally I don't get overly excited for an air show, since my memories of air shows prior to here are from Rochester, NY and the two times I went it was hot as heck and you'd wander into a plane or two and it was even hotter inside and over the course of the hour you sweated your arse off and saw maybe 3-4 planes go by.

This is nothing like that!  While you are just chilling out, relaxing on the beach enjoying the sunshine, you see planes which at times seem like they're within arms reach away.  Some of them are literally right there in your face, like the one shown above.  And you have such a wide angle to view the whole show that it's really like nothing you've ever seen, unless of course you've seen an air show at the beach.  I'm especially looking forward to checking things out from the back deck, because I think we'll be able to see them approach from the inland side and make their way out to the beach.

One of the most memorable moments for me personally was here during one of the airshow weekends.  It was over 5 years ago and I had a terrible prior week of on-call.  My job was really getting to me and that day was the first break that I had in quite a long time.  I had off on a Friday following the prior week's on-call.  I went to the beach just to sit and do nothing and I don't think I was aware they do practice runs on Friday before the big air show Sat/Sun.  I was sitting there enjoying the break and out of no where, the planes started to fly in.  It was truly the break I needed right at the perfect moment and was something I won't soon forget.

The last year they had it here, in 2009 there were 400,000 people in town for the event!  I just looked up the population of Jacksonville beach and it is 21,523.  :-o  Since this year they didn't have fireworks here at the beach for the 4th of July and the air show hasn't been here since 2009, I have a feeling this will be even bigger than 2009!

And a "cold" front is coming through on Friday, but that only means that it will be high 70s/low 80s for highs and high 50s for lows.  Typically it is low 80s for highs and high 60s/low 70s for a low this month.  That will be a little cooler than normal, but that will probably be perfect weather for hanging all day watching the show.

We can't wait for Max and the crew to arrive.  We've had way more guests than normal since moving to the beach, but these will be our first overnight guests!  If you happen to be in the area, stop on by for the show!

American Horror Story Blog

You might have noticed that I added an American Horror Story Blog to my Blogroll on the right hand side a week or two ago.  That is a new site I recently set up.  It is http://www.ahsblog.com AHS stands for American Horror Story, so it should be easy to remember.  I'm a big fan of the show and season two entitled Asylum starts next Wednesday, Oct 17th at 10pm on FX Network.  I'd recommend you program it into your DVR.

If you've never seen the show, no worries.  You do not have to know anything about season one to jump right into season two.  Each season will be completely different, but some of the actors may carry over into new roles.

Teresa and Leo from American Horror Story: Asylum
You may recognize two of the new stars for season two.  One is Adam Levine (Leo) from the hit show the Voice and also lead singer for Maroon 5.  His newlywed wife is Jenna Dewan-Tatum (Teresa), wife of Channing Tatum, aka Magic Mike.

Briarcliff Manor Sanitarium is the setting of Asylym. It was bought by the Catholic church in 1963 and transformed into a sanitarium. Prior to the purchase the facility was a Tuberculosis ward. It is run by Monsignor Timothy O'Hara and Sister Jude. Sister Eunice is second in command.

In the trailer we finally find out that Leo and Teresa are newlyweds on a honeymoon of haunted places, shown getting a little frisky at the Asylum.  As for Lana, she’s the journalist who is convinced something is not right at Briarcliff.  She is determined to find out why people seem to check into the Asylum, but never leave.  Of course the experiments by Dr. Arden don’t look too comfortable but it’s the iron hand, make that wooden stick, of Sister Jude’s (Jessica Lange) management style that can bring anyone to tears.  (Paraphrased from source).

Are you ready to get committed?!  If you like the show already or are interested enough to give it a try, I'd appreciate it if you would like our Facebook page, check out the American Horror Story Blog site and head on over to the American Horror Story Forums to get some discussion going about the show!

iPhone 5 - 2 Week Review

It has now been just over 2 weeks since we got the new iPhone 5 and I wanted to provide a quick update to my newbie review

So far so good, the only con that continued for me so far is the battery life, but I found a "fix".  I've been following a thread on the Apple website of folks complaining of battery life issues.  Lots offer suggestions such as resetting all of your settings to factory defaults, turning off various location services and push notifications for programs like email/Facebook, or last ditch efforts such as wiping the phone and starting over. If you're wanting to try to increase your battery life, here is a post detailing several of those methods.

For me, what seemed to make the biggest improvement was turning off LTE/4G.  Some might say, "but that defeats the purpose of upgrading" and I would tend to agree if that was one of the main factors in your decision making process.  But I view that as a temporary fix to a problem that will most likely be resolved soon via software update.  Since we pre-ordered and the phone is brand new, we expected some potential issues upfront.

If I truly need the additional speed of LTE and I am not in WiFi range, I will certainly turn on LTE, but for the most part if I'm doing anything data intensive I want to be on WiFi anyway, so it isn't a big deal for me at this point in time.

Other than that, we're really liking the new phone.  I've been playing a few fun games like Paper Toss Friends, where you challenge friends or random people to tossing paper, or any number of other items such as a frisbee, magic 8 ball, football, or even a hand grenade into a waste paper basket.  It is really fun.  I played the original on Android all the time, but that one didn't have the ability to play against other people.

Some other cool apps/games of mention are:  Evernote, Matching with Friends Free, Where's My Water/Perry Free.  If you're new to the iPhone/iOS or just want to learn a few new tricks, definitely get the app called Tips for iPhone - Tricks and Secrets.  We've learned a bunch from that app!

We also really like the iPhone 5 cases and iPhone 5 screen protectors that I mentioned in a post last week.  The cases look great, fit snug, are inexpensive and seem like they would protect from a fall very well.

How has your experience been so far for those that have upgraded to the iPhone 5?  Any recommended apps/games to share?

Where have I been?

One of our fuzzy babies, Buddy!

I just wanted to do a post to say I'm still here!  We've been pretty busy lately and I've been a little bit stressed as well, so I haven't gotten around to posting.

We have been busy prepping our old house for sale and doing the paperwork and that is finally all set.  It's listed and we had some activity and interest right after being posted on MLS last Friday afternoon and actually we got an offer in less than 24 hours.  That was really surprising, since it was listed for more than I was anticipating.

The offer seemed pretty solid and we were tentatively all set until our realtor sent her the last paper to sign yesterday.  Apparently the finality of that last sheet put her over the edge and she got the jitters.  And that was after she wanted to move quickly to get the contract signed so that our realtor could mark it pending and not market it further.

Oh well, it's a short sale process and thus it will take some time anyway and it's not a big deal if that offer falls through.  Our realtor has not even put up a sign or had any pictures taken for the listing yet, so no biggie.  It's just good to see that someone was very interested, so that at least shows others appreciate our taste and efforts to decorate and maintain things, so that is good.  We should find out by around noon today as to if she is in or out, but like I said no biggie either way.

I've been pretty stressed out over the last month in relation to my working situation.  Since we haven't quite figured out the key to making a living online just yet and we're not yet independently wealthy either, our furry children require that we both work for a living to provide adequate food, clothing, shelter and treats.

Rather than go into the nitty-gritty drawn out details, the bottom line is that there is an outsourcing initiative with an Indian outsourcing company in progress.  There has been a huge lack of communication and clarity and the bottom line as we were told Monday, is that everyone will be extended until the end of this year, but that is all we know for certain.

Some existing contractors have been in negotiations to stay with the Indian outsourcing company for an undetermined role for an undermined period of time, others have not.  I have had some discussions, but it's unclear where things are at or where they will go.

The bottom line is that it has added a huge amount of uncertainty and stress to everyday life and I have no choice but to do what I need to do in order to find a new opportunity either way.

If you happen to have connections in the IT field or in HR, I'm currently looking for positions that typically have titles like Unix Systems Administrator, Senior Unix Administrator, Linux Administrator and Unix/Linux Engineer.  I also have experience in website setup and search engine optimization (SEO).  I'm looking for positions locally here in the Jacksonville Florida area or telecommute positions.  Thanks ahead of time and feel free to email me at chris "@" thepathtoriches.com  I'd be glad to pass along a current resume.

I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason and when one door closes a better one opens.  I'm positive that better things are ahead.  I appreciate any and all positive thoughts to further that cause!

I hope everyone is doing well out there in blog land and one thing I'm definitely looking forward to is my mom, Jen, David and Max coming to visit in 2 weeks!  Jen just posted a video of Max crawling, but Blogger is being a pain and not uploading my video, so here is a still shot.  Can't wait to see him do it in person!

Go Max go!
